05 — Common questions

Frequently asked.

Do you work fixed-bid or time-and-materials?
Both. Strategy engagements and audits are fixed-bid. Build engagements are usually phased fixed-bids, where each phase is scoped before it starts and pricing is set then. Retainers are time-and-materials within a defined monthly envelope.
What stack do you work in?
TypeScript end to end. Next.js or Remix on the frontend, Postgres as the system of record, Tailwind for styling, Vercel or Fly for hosting. We adapt when your team is already on something different and capable.
Do you take on greenfield projects only?
No. Roughly half of our work is on existing codebases that need rebuilding, restructuring, or extending. We do not require a clean slate.
Where are you based?
Distributed across Europe, West Africa, and South America. We schedule the bulk of synchronous work in a UTC ± 4 window and run asynchronously the rest of the time.
What does your hand-off look like?
Documented decisions, a runbook, a recorded walk-through of the codebase, and a 30-day window where we remain on call for questions at no additional cost. Most clients move to a retainer or on-call arrangement after that window.
